DES MOINES, IA — Fair-Play became a pioneer in the field of wireless scoreboard control systems when it launched its first MP-70 device nearly one decade ago.

Now, with the release of the new MP-72/52 wireless control product line, the company which prides itself on being an industry leader has set a new industry standard.

The new series of wireless controls, which begin shipping in August, are a significant upgrade over the previous version and are similarly priced.

“The release of the new wireless controls puts us back in front of the competition,” said Fair-Play National Sales Manager Jeff Reeser. “It also gives us a foundation for which to make future improvements in our wireless systems.”

Cell phone towers and the use of wireless headsets by coaches could cause intermittent connection problems for some scoreboards, but those problems are now a thing of the past. G2 controls have incorporated a frequency hopping method that enhances immunity to radio interference.

In addition to improved reliability, the new controls offer substantially better operating range than the competition’s standard of 1,000 feet. Fair-Play’s MP-72/52 series has been tested at a range of 1,500 feet for outdoor use and 500 feet indoors.

All sports control radios feature a 900 MHz operating speed and 16-channel selection.

The new line of controls can be retrofi tted to MP-50 and MP-70 scoreboard systems. However, they are incompatible with existing MP-70/50 radios. If retrofitting MP-70/50 installations, both the transmitter and receiver must be replaced.

Fair-Play has also announced the release of more products in the wireless lineup - MiScore™, MiTime™ and MiClock™ remote controls.
