Versatile Scoreboard Fills Need in Pella

PELLA, IA — With a new multi-purpose outdoor stadium on the horizon at Iowa’s Pella Christian High School, Superintendent Darryl DeRuiter needed a new scoreboard that could effectively display information for three different sports.

His decision would not be a difficult one. Having purchased baseball, softball and basketball scoreboard from Fair-Play in the past two years, DeRuiter stayed in his comfort zone.

“We have built an entire new campus, so we needed five new scoreboards in all,” said DeRuiter. “This stadium was not just football, so we looked for a scoreboard that could accommodate the other activities and events. The Fair-Play scoreboard we purchased very much met those needs. We have been very happy with the previous four scoreboards we bought for other sports.”

The FB-8126TK-2 model scoreboard is primarily used for football, but its captions can be changed for scoring soccer and track-and-field. DeRuiter also likes the wireless capabilities of Fair-Play’s MP-72 control.

“We’ve got two in our gymnasium that have worked really well, so we can mix and match with those,” he said.
