DES MOINES, IA — The newest CaptiVue® product from Fair-Play bridges the gap between its 16mm and 23mm display offerings.

CaptiVue 20mm full-color displays controlled by ProLine® software are a great fit for a number of sports and educational applications.

“It should be a hit in larger sports applications, as well as school marquee projects” said Fair-Play National Sales Manager Jeff Reeser. “Our dealers can really use this in the marketplace; it adds to their arsenal of product options.

“(20mm displays) are pretty common in the marketplace, so we’ll be able to bid more projects. And as a result, we should become more competitive in this aspect of our business.”

Dealers will enjoy the versatility of selling 20mm CaptiVue displays. Instead of utilizing 8×16 resolution modules, which are the standard in 16mm and 23mm displays, the 20mm employs 16×16.

All 20mm displays have a viewing angle of 140×60 degrees horizontally and vertically, 7500 nits of brightness and are capable of displaying 68 billion colors.

Another added feature of Fair-Play’s newest CaptiVue product is a replaceable face plate, which makes it harder to spot replaced modules. If modules are replaced, the original weathered face plate can remain with the CaptiVue display. If louvers are damaged, the face plate can be replaced without replacing the expensive electronics.

The new line of displays is also easier to install and service.

Modules are significantly lighter than previous outdoor modules – 23% lighter than 23mm and 24% lighter than 16 mm – which means a signifi cantly lighter display. Message centers feature standard front access, which makes for easier maintenance in the field.

Here are some additional features of Fair-Play’s new 20mm CaptiVue:

• Segmented louvers provide more uniform viewing and hide module seams between modules. They’re also easier to clean than traditional silicon louver faces.

• Special pattern on the louvers and face plate reduces glare, increases contrast and brightness.

• Module sides are beveled to reduce the gap between modules for custom installations onto convex surfaces.

• The modules have been designed to reduce assembly and service time.
